Project:
St. Theresa School Library
Project Description:
Expanding facilities for St. Theresa School, this new 7,000 sq. ft. library connects with the existing learning center, allowing two levels of shared access and flexibility for long-term planning. Designed in conjunction with the renovation of additional classrooms in the learning center building, the new library will be oriented to provide generous daylight and will employ sensible, sustainable design innovations to create an efficient, comfortable, and inspiring environment. The lower level will be covered outdoor play, seating, and assembly space. Upstairs, movable partitions will allow for library subspaces, flexible use, and acoustical control. Photovoltaic panels over the roof will shade the building and provide significant power cost savings. Intelligent siting will balance the enhanced facilities with precious outdoor active spaces.
