Started the day with a 17 mile trail run with Alex, a dear friend. The good news is that I did not fall, and the weather although hot and the topography quite steep, we were able to accomplish our goal. We met at 5:00 am before sunrise and along the way enjoyed the solitude of Dry Wells, Chino Canyon and the Likken Trail. At times it got creepy because you never know if we may encounter some problems but thanks to multiple packets of gu, a lot of water and some faint clouds we made it back in one piece. I am trying to coax Alex into joining our running group and to train for a marathon in the Fall. I think he is athletic enough he will smoke me in no time.
At the end of the run, I just got in my car, tanned as a cinammon and did not even say good bye. So, here we go, Bye Alex, I hope you are surviving the aches and pains of our adventure. The most important part of it all, is that trail running forces you to stay in the present and those endorphins become very chivalrous and make you feel very much alive.
Hasta la proxima.
